I haven’t been blogging, but it’s been for an important cause. We dig Barack Obama here at Summerglen–we’ve had our Obama sign out since before the primaries. And throughout his campaign, we’ve been knocking on doors, talking to our families, and paying attention to what’s going on in the world, really for the first time. In years past, we haven’t been quite as active or engaged in national affairs, because it seemed like there was no way we could make a difference.

Well, now we know that we CAN make a difference. And we want to keep doing it!

The thing I like best about our president-elect is his ability to inspire and motivate people to get out there and change the world. (What teacher wouldn’t like THAT?) I hope that all these excited people will continue putting their energy out there to help others, and to make our country and our world the best it can be.

Congratulations, President-Elect Obama!

Obama in the Triangle! http://www.summerglen-music.com/blog/obama-in-the-triangle http://www.summerglen-music.com/blog/obama-in-the-triangle#comments Wed, 30 Apr 2008 13:28:01 +0000 summerglen http://www.summerglen-music.com/blog/?p=31 Obama at UNC

Andrew and I (and quite possibly Velvet the cat) really dig Barack Obama, so we’re very excited to have him in North Carolina! Here’s an entertaining rundown of Obama’s visit with the UNC Basketball Team.

I wonder if Mr. Obama would like to try his hand at trombone or percussion…
Maybe on his next visit, we’ll get him over here for a drum circle! Go Obama!
